Summer Activities

General Summer Activities

There is a whole host of summer activities you can enjoy close to the chalet, most notably in Morzine, which is a true year round resort. Ranging from mountain biking, white water rafting and climbing, to cycling, walking or golfing. There are activities which are great for families, groups and those that you can just pop out on your own and enjoy. Whatever you decide to do there is plenty of choice in the moutains during summer.

To get familiarized with what is on offer, we suggest browsing some local information sites, such as

Mountain Biking

Morzine, Les Gets, Avoriaz, & the whole Portes du Soleil (PDS) area is simply one of the best areas in the world for mountain biking, with extensive down hill and cross contry trails, an extenisive lift system, bike park areas and beautiful mountain scenery.

The area has been at the forefront of Alpine mountain biking for a considerable number of years and as such has a highly developed network of trails. There is literally something for everyone to enjoy, from family riding, beginniner downhill tracks, north shore tracks, skills practise areas, bike parks and a diverse mix of cross country loops spanning from France into Switzerland and back.

One of the best known mountain bike events at the start of the summer season each year, is the Pass'portes du Soleil, where you can ride the whole 80km circuit, or smaller portions of it depending on how fit you're feeling. The chalet is the perfect base for this event, and general MTB riding, giving easy access to Les Linderets, Morzine, Chatel, Les Gets and beyond.

Road Cycling

Riding in the Alps is much more demanding than your favourite local route back in the UK. The roads around the region are the setting for some of the most gruelling sections of the Tour de France but they can be tackled by enthusiasts as well as professionals. The roads around the chalet and the nearby region are generally quiet and car drivers will be considerate to your enjoyment of the road network.

The highlight of your visit to Chalet Brochaux most certainly will be the Col Du Corbier climb, the start of which is at the doorstep of the chalet! The climb is 6km up to the Drouzin Le Mont station, with an elevation increase of over 500m and an average incline of 8.6%! From there routes extend to Chatel, or back down Vallee Abondance towards Lac Leman. A truly world class climb!

There are two golf courses close to Chalet Brochaux, the best of which is Les Gets, a more extensive challenge than its neighbor in Avoriaz.

In the heart of the Portes du Soleil, in wooded surroundings, is the Les Gets Golf course. From its diversity, this fairly technical golf course derives its originality. The panoramic views along with the agreeable fresh air of Alpine summers make a tempting invitation to discover this exceptional setting.

EVIAN Championship

The Evain Resort Golf Club is within 30 kilometers of Chalet Brochaux, and along with being a wonderful golf course, is also the host of the Major Tournament 'The Evian Championship'. For more details please visit
